CyBe opens US office; 3D concrete printing sustainable houses

CyBe makes the switch to the United States. The Dutch 3D concrete printing company is opening an office in Florida and has plans to respond to the demand for sustainable (rental) homes in North America for which 3D concrete printing is a good technology. CyBe has also become a member of ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials).

There we see a strong demand for affordable (rental) housing, which seems to have only increased during Covid-19, amplified by the effects of climate change.” 3D concrete printing contributes to the faster and more sustainable construction of homes.

Florida contractor leads CyBe facility

CyBe Construction Florida LLC will be led by Florida native James Light. He has been 3D concrete printing for 6 years and in 2021 successfully 3D printed the first licensed home in Florida using a Cobod system. A licensed Florida contractor since 2007, James runs a small family construction business in his hometown of Tallahassee, Florida. James Light sees that his vision is in line with that of CyBe, namely a holistic approach to the construction process as opposed to the current highly fragmented process.

CyBe joins ASTM

CyBe has joined ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials). This organization now has more than 12,000 standards that are used worldwide and has also been focusing on the global 3D printing industry for several years.

An important role in the ecosystem of the Dutch company – hardware, software and materials for 3D concrete printing – plays CyBe mortar, which hardens in just 3 minutes and achieves structural strength within the hour. CO2 emissions are reduced by 32%.
