The 50 families from the rural area of Centenario who have been demanding since Tuesday the regularization of their plots to access services, will have another day of cuts this Thursday. They will begin at 3:30 in the morning and will block the passage of vehicles in the Route 51 and 67, two key roads for traffic linked to the oil activity of Vaca Muerta.
The measure was confirmed RÍO NEGRO newspaper by Alba Panero, spokesperson for the group of settlers. “Tomorrow (for today) we are going to block the transit of oil trucks and vans, because it seems that it is the only thing that interests provincial officials”he explained.
The people had taken the claim to Route 7 near the access to Vista Alegre last Tuesday. They spent the night there and following receiving an eviction order, decided to move the cut to the area near the School N°204.
“We want the secretary of Territorial Development and Environment of the province, Jorge Lara, to come talk to us, because he does not want to attend to us,” Alba counted.
The woman also explained that they received a letter from the provincial government that advances inspections to survey the area. «They are going to inspect on Monday or Tuesday, we ask that a meeting with Jorge Lara be established in that same office, but they did not do it, so we return with the measure of force, “advanced the neighbor.
The provincial government awarded, at least twice (1998 and 2011), the lands in question, where their plots are located and as they expressed “There was never any intention that they regularize us, or give us the possibility of paying for the land to access the titles”.
