Cut ear, knife planted in the foot and severed tendons: a 17-year-old young man tortured by drug traffickers in Flanders

In Meetjesland, a region in the northwest of the province of East Flanders, a 17-year-old boy was tortured by a local gang of drug traffickers. The latter accused the youngster of having informed a rival gang of the whereregardings of 300 kilos of cocaine with a market value of 15 million euros. A stock that has disappeared.

According The newspapaer, the young man was tortured in the garage of a farm in the town of Maldegem, in East Flanders, in April this year. The traffickers cut off her ear with a sharp knife. The torturers also severed the tendons of his hand and plunged a knife into his foot. According to information from the Flemish daily, the victim can no longer use this hand and risks losing four of his five toes.

This young person would have been responsible for guarding the shed where the drugs were kept with another person. But the two young guards were allegedly ambushed by the rival gang, and it was the 17-year-old who was identified as responsible for the loss by gang leaders.

Four people in court

Four suspects have been arrested. The victim was dropped off at the doorstep of a hospital and CCTV footage identified the license plate of the car and one of the gang members. These four people appeared before the chambers of Ghent on Monday. Three of them remained in detention. These people would be members of the gang, but would not be the torturers of the victim, who has not yet instituted civil proceedings.
