As you may have noticed in recent weeks, Christmas decorations have already invaded the shelves of several stores across the country. With more than two months to go until the end of the year celebrations, the timing is confusing many customers.
This week, it was on the side of Flanders that the reactions fused, in particular towards the Colruyt chain of stores. “September 24…”, comments ironically on Twitter one of the customers. “Colruyt, why don’t you hang Easter eggs on the trees? “. A trend which is therefore spreading and which we told you regarding a few days ago in Charleroi. Whether at Action or Extra, the shelves are already starting to display fir trees, garlands or even Santa Clauses. For the vast majority of customers, the period is more conducive to school supplies and Halloween decorations.
However, as Colruyt revealed in a response to this dissatisfied customer, this earliness responds to a well-oiled sales strategy. “We understand that for some it is still a bit too early for Christmas trees,” the channel wrote on Twitter. “They’re there to give customers a taste of what to expect once the product goes on sale. It’s never too early to think regarding Christmas decorations. Cheers ! “.
