On Friday, the Saudi Visual Media Authority summoned one of the most famous makers of electronic games content for “violating content controls” on social platforms.
The media authority did not name the person concerned, but observers confirmed that the matter was related to the content maker known as “Abu Iyad”.
Abu Iyad is one of the most famous “gamers” in Saudi Arabia, and a video clip spread of him, in which he severely criticized the Saudi Minister of Communications, Abdullah Al-Sawaha, with derogatory terms such as “I curse her father from Aisha” and “I have not seen a minister fail you.”

Abu Iyad insisted on conveying his “message” to the Minister of Communications, and said: “I say it in public.. They sent it to him.. Three years and we have been suffering? .. You have disturbed us with the fifth generation, and with digital transformation.. We have been suffering from you for three years.”
It is noteworthy that Abu Iyad’s video, which the Al-Hurra website has reservations regarding publishing, included several insults, directed at the minister who assumed his position in 2017, because of what he said was a loss he incurred, as a result of disrupting the activation of the fifth generation network in the country.
Among what he said was: “My livelihood has been cut off, my contracts have been lost because of you… for how long, my brother?”
Abu Iyad blamed the Minister of Communications for the disruption in the installation of optical fiber to the Internet in Saudi Arabia, which made it difficult to move the flow to higher levels.
The young man gave examples in European countries where the loading power reached record levels, according to him, and in the United States, which moved to fiber “30 years ago,” as he put it.

After the video clip spread widely in Saudi Arabia, and many commentators denounced the insults contained in it, Abu Iyad came out once more in a video clip that he posted on his page in the Tik Tok application and said: “God bears witness that the words and words that came out, are something out of my control.”
Then he continued: “I am honest.. I spoke out of my compulsion,” then confirmed that he had not received any threat to publish the new video, which included his admission that he exceeded the limits of criticism and said: “No one threatened me, and no one told me why I did this.”
Then he added, “On the contrary, I received an invitation from the Ministry of Communications to meet His Excellency the Minister,” and he went on to confirm: “My voice and yours will reach him, God willing.”
After the end of his meeting with the minister, in Riyadh, Abu Iyad re-published another video, the most prominent of which was stated, “By God, my conscience is built, you group.”
