Current rumors about Canon, Fujifilm, Hasselblad, OM digital Solutions, Sony and Tamron

Canon: Which RF lenses are next? +++ Fujifilm: X-T5 with 40 megapixels later this year? +++ Hasselblad: Presentation of the X2D already soon? +++ OM Digital Solutions: Presentation of the OM-5 at the end of September? +++ Sony super zoomer RX10 V planned? +++ Tamron: Macro lens for E-mount in the works?

Canon is rapidly expanding its range of RF lenses. The rumor mills are now hammering out what lenses for the EOS R System might be next: the RF 15-30mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, RF 24mm f/1.8 IS STM and RF 135mm f/1.8L USM. All three lenses should rely on a somewhat simpler STM drive for the AF and not belong to the high-quality (and higher-priced) L line. The rumor mills are still divided on the details. The 135 might also become an RF 135mm f/1.8L USM IS, i.e. with image stabilization. There are also still uncertainties with the light intensity of the wide-angle zoom.

hardly has Fujifilm die X-H2s presented at 40 fps (and the prospect of the X-H2 with approx. 40 megapixels), the rumors regarding the X-T5 are already spreading. Which sensor will the successor of the X-T4 get: the fast one of the X-H2s? Or the high-resolution X-H2? Or will the X-T5 also be available in both variants? At least the latter is said to have been denied by Fujifilm in the meantime – the X-T5 will therefore only come in one variant. And in the high-resolution, i.e. with around 40 megapixels – the rumor mongers are sure of that. It is possible that the X-T5 will be presented at the end of the year.

One Hasselblad X2D has been circulating through the rumor mills for a few weeks now. Now the references to the most important specifications are condensed. A 100 megapixel sensor is expected (similar to that of the Fujifilm GFX100S). The X2D might also get a foldable display, a status LCD on the top and an internal image stabilizer. The official presentation is expected within the next few weeks, then it will also become clear whether the speculated price is correct: insiders speak of around 8,000 euros.

That OM System has an OM-5 on the list has been circulating for some time. There was heavy speculation as to when the camera with the rumored 41-megapixel sensor might be presented. Now it says: At the earliest at the end of September.

Sony is usually particularly difficult to look at maps. A rumor that hardly anyone should have had in mind is all the more surprising: Sony would be working on an RX10 V. One speculation in particular makes you sit up and take notice: the RX10 V is to be equipped with artificial intelligence. What task the AI might perform remains vague, however. More specifically, on the other hand, it means that the on-board flash, in contrast to the now five year old RX10 IV omitted. Is there anything to it? We will know by the end of the year at the latest – because the rumor mongers expect the RX10 V to be released this year.

Tamron is apparently working on a new macro lens for E-mount. This is indicated by four patents that have recently surfaced. The following might be developed: 60mm f/2.0 macro for APS-C as well as 90mm f/2.8 macro, 150mm f/2.8 macro or 180mm f/3.5 macro for 35mm.
