CurlingSwitzerland will see the semi-finals twice at the European Championships
Both for men and women, the Swiss representatives have obtained their ticket for the last four of the Europeans, in Östersund (Sweden).

Eight years after the crowning of the ladies in Champéry and nine years after that of the men in Stavanger (Norway), Switzerland can still dream of returning to the top of European curling. And rather twice than once. Indeed, the two Swiss teams ensured their qualification for the semi-finals of the European Championships (disputed in Östersund, Sweden), in their respective table.
Among the men, CC Geneva had already scored their ticket on Tuesday evening, thanks to their victory against Spain (6-3) in their seventh match of the round robin. But the successors of Team De Cruz, where Benoît Schwarz and Sven Michel are now supported by Yannick Schwaller and Pablo Lachat, have not slowed down the pace. This Wednesday, they inflicted on Scotland their first defeat in the competition (7-2). Before concluding the preliminary phase against Germany on Thursday morning (8 a.m.), Switzerland has seven successes against a loss and ranks 3rd.
On the women’s side, CC Aarau also qualified for the last four. However, the quartet made up of Silvana Tirinzoni, Alina Pätz, Carole Howald and Briar Schwaller-Hürlimann owes it to the failure of their pursuers since they concluded their round robin with two defeats, this Wednesday, against Germany (7- 10) then Italy (3-9). 3rd with a record of six wins and three losses, the Swiss will meet the Italians in the semi-finals this Thursday at midday (12 p.m.).
