Doha: ‘Culture Sports Day 2022’ was celebrated with extensive events. The week-long program led by the Sports Committee concluded with an exciting sports meet at the Ideal Indian School. As part of the Sports Day, football, cricket tournaments, tug-of-war and other individual sports competitions were held with the participation of various units of culture.

The units lined up for the colorful march past events. The colorful march march to the Abu Hamour Ideal Indian School grounds was abuzz with spectacles, various Kerala scenes, placards in solidarity with the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Mansoura unit won the football match held at various places. The Misaid unit won the cricket match and the Abu Hamour unit won the men’s and women’s tug-of-war. Mansoor was also selected as the unit overall champion. Culture officials, members of the Central Committee and members of the Cultural Sports Committee led the program. Hundreds of cultural members, including women and children, attended the event. Primary care was available at Imara Medical Center and Naseem Al Rabeh Medical Center.

Former Qatar volleyball team captain Mubarak was the chief guest at the Eid. Sheji Valiyakat, Vice President, Indian Sports Center, inaugurated the event. General Secretary of Culture A.K. Jalil, EM Sudhir and ICBF General Secretary Sabit Zaheer spoke. Sports Committee Convener Sreejith Padmajan welcomed the gathering and Culture Sports Committee Acting Secretary Saltas Samuel thanked them. Cultural leaders presented trophies and medals to the winners at the closing ceremony in the evening. Former President Pramod Chandran congratulated the winners.
