The French musician Dadju, during an interview on television, explained that his big brother, “Maître Gims”, was his own “UFO” and that he did everything while having a great deal of great interest in the latter.
“Gims, he had a lot of influence on me, I looked at my big brother like a little brother looks at his big brother, I wanted to do like him, sing like him and dress like him,” said Dadju.
Besides, being his brother is always difficult, he says, saying that because he’s done so many great things, it’s hard for the person behind to shine. “I was determined to prove to people that I too can do it, of course, it was difficult and long, but I got there,” he said.
In the process, Dadju clarifies: “When I was in a group, people said “It is the group of the brother of Master Gims” and that was difficult for us. When I started going solo it was Gims’ brother released an album, that’s one of the reasons why I never did a music video with Gims because I didn’t even want anyone to know that I was his brother, I really wanted to do my own thing but I wasn’t in a position where I didn’t want his help.
For Dadju, the result of his work proves today how many brothers can succeed together. According to him, it is possible to be at the top as a family. “Today, with the success that I have, the fact of being separated from GIMS, proves that two brothers can shine in music”, he concludes.
