Two years after the successful release of Cult of the Lamb, Massive Monster and Devolver Digital have announced the first paid DLC that will extend the story of the action-adventure game in a way never seen before.
Called Pilgrim Comic Pack, the DLC will be available on August 12 alongside the Unholy Alliance update that introduces the Goat as a new playable character and adds local co-op mode.
This story-driven chapter, developed by Massive Monster alongside writer JoJo Zhou and artist Carles Dalmau, will introduce new and returning characters, intertwined in a tale of bloody mystery and intrigue.
“In Pilgrim’s story, you’ll join Jalala and Rinor as they journey through the Lands of the Old Faith, searching for a place to call home,” the DLC description reads. “If they can survive the dangerous Cultists seeking new sacrifices, terrifying creatures scavenging for food, and strange mushroom peddlers… not to mention rumors of an evil beast stalking the land in search of its next victim… then just maybe they can make it.”
Early footage revealed that Pilgrim will be a choice-driven narrative, with players able to guide the story as they lead Jalala and Rinor through the many horrors that await them. It appears to be a completely different game from Cult of the Lamb, expanding on the lore and story of that adventure in a new way.
