The recent arrival of liquefied gas to Cuban ports allowed fuel supply to be resumed throughout the country, ensuring 30-day coverage, according to executives and specialists in the energy sector.
The operation began under adverse weather conditions due to the proximity of Hurricane Milton to western Cuba, which complicated the unloading maneuvers. reported the authorities to Cuban TV.
The general director of the Havana liquefied gas company explained that the fuel was received during the evening of the previous day and continued to be unloaded throughout the early morning.
“From 4 in the morning we began the entire process of packaging cylinders to the distribution trucks,” he said, highlighting the speed of the process. By 6 in the morning, the first trucks were already arriving at the points of sale in the capital.
The operation includes the transfer of gas to other regions of the country through roads and ports, with the aim of restoring supply in most of the national territory in the shortest possible time.
«It is a distribution process that will continue uninterrupted. “We are not going to rest on holidays, Saturdays or Sundays,” said the manager, emphasizing the effort they are making to guarantee service to the population after the recent damage.
Guaranteed coverage for only 30 days
For their part, sector specialists highlighted the importance of this operation, pointing out that there is 30-day coverage for all of Cuba. The restoration of inventories will allow us to respond appropriately to demand. “The import will cover the nation’s demands for liquefied petroleum gas,” said one of the technicians.
The logistical effort is also being extended to other provinces, with the mobilization of trucks that transport thousands of liters of liquefied gas to different parts of the country. A driver indicated that he was transporting 34,000 liters of gas to the province of Camagüey.
The energy authorities emphasize that this “extraordinary effort” will continue until the supply of liquefied gas throughout the country is completely stabilized, and they assure that the communities will be served immediately as soon as the fuel reaches the points of sale.
