After arresting him, it was found that inside Montero’s pocket there was a key to the Jeep where the stolen cell phone was. The car was impounded and Montero was taken to the Central Police Station, where he refused to answer the detectives’ questions. Inside the Cuban’s car, 17 stolen cell phones were later found wrapped in aluminum foil, in an attempt to reduce their signals.
A laptop and a woman’s wallet were also found. The wallet had been stolen from a Dothan, Alabama, woman earlier that weekend while she was at Jason Aldean’s bar on Broadway. The investigation, led by Central Police Detective Brent Fisher, continues to identify the owners of the other phones and the laptop found in the Jeep.
