Cuban man kills his mother in a house in Hialeah. A young man was shot dead by the police in Hialeah, Miami, Florida, this week, after killing his mother with a knife and seriously injuring his sister and grandmother, who are fighting for their lives in a Miami hospital.
According to local media, Hialeah police have identified the man suspected of stabbing three members of his family in an incident that resulted in the death of his own mother. The suspect, shot dead by police on Wednesday, was identified as Alex Gonzalez, 30.
The incident occurred at a residence located at 4265 West 5th Court, around 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, when police responded to a call for a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers found a stabbed victim outside the home and two other people injured inside, along with the armed suspect.
Mayke González, brother of the deceased victim, described the difficult moment when he had to inform his mother and niece about the tragedy.
“I had to tell my mom that her daughter had passed away and my niece that her mom had passed away. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but I had to be strong and let them know,” she explained.

During the intervention, the police officers confronted the armed suspect and were forced to shoot, according to the police report. However, the young Cuban, with apparent mental problems, had already killed his mother in the house in Hialeah.
Madeline Gonzalez, 50, the suspect’s mother, died at the scene. Two other victims, identified as Rosa Gonzalez, the suspect’s grandmother, and Amanda Gonzalez, his 17-year-old sister, were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center and are fighting for their lives.
“They are both alive by a miracle, but they are alive and they will be fine. They both know that they have to be strong, one for the other because now a grandmother is left for a granddaughter, together,” added Mayke.
