Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela among the worst countries for press freedom

This Friday, May 3, the organization Reporters Without Borders released its annual Press Freedom Report, in which countries such as Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela are at the bottom of the list.

According to the report, Norway is ranked as the nation with the best media freedom, while Eritrea replaced North Korea as the country with the worst press freedom.

In the last positions of the American continent, Cuba occupies position 168, while Nicaragua is in position 163 and Venezuela square 156which according to Reporters Without Borders, in these nations “Journalism is subject to censorship based on arbitrary decisions”.

The report also states that Ecuador has lost some 30 positions to now rank 110th, while Argentina has dropped 26 positions to now rank 66th, as highlighted by AFP.
