With more than two decades of infrastructure works for the country’s industry and ports, CTC Infra expands its operations and begins to serve the new segments of digital infrastructure and urban clubs. The company is responsible for the construction of one of the largest data center campuses in Latin America, in Barueri, in Greater São Paulo, and an artificial beach in the city of São Paulo, in the Santo Amaro neighborhood, in the South zone. portfolio coincides with the adoption of the new brand, Constremac contraction, in line with the evolution of its processes and services.

This movement of CTC Infra follows the growth trend and emergence of new data centers, according to a study carried out by Arizton Advisory & Intelligence points out that this market should surpass the US$ 7.8 billion mark in investments in Latin America by 2026. Brazil leads this scenario, being responsible for 40% of this value. Furthermore, in a list made by Data Center Magazine, São Paulo appears in fifth place among the main growing markets worldwide.

The company’s engineering director, Rodrigo Melo, explains that in these works, the CTC Infra applies the same methodologies used in heavy infrastructure construction, which allows for a reduction of one-third to one-half of normal working time. “We brought the expertise we developed over 20 years of experience to speed up deliveries and enable customers to get a faster return on investment, under international standards of quality, safety and sustainability,” says Melo.

Melo says that the expected delivery of the campus to Scala Data Centers is 12 months. The works for the Beyond The Clubwhich will have a wave pool for surfing and courts for practicing various sports, will be completed in 2025. The project belongs to the group formed by BTG Pactual Asset Management, Realty Properties and KSM.

Rodrigo also comments that the Barueri data center will be one of the ten largest in the world, according to Scala. “The hyper-scalable data center market is expanding rapidly around the world to accommodate the arrival of 5G and will continue to demand work for the next ten years. This infrastructure is necessary for technology to take the economy to a new level, with a wide range of new services in the internet of things, telemedicine, streaming, autonomous cars and the integration of so-called smart cities”, he highlights.

According to the executive, the entire campus will have capacity for 450 MW of IT and 600 MW of electrical energy. To have a size of this magnitude, this total is equivalent to enough to supply energy to a city the size of Brasília (DF).

The objective of Scala is that the structure, which will have optical fibers, cell towers, data centers and mobile transmission cells, will be an artificial intelligence hub in Brazil. New digital businesses will demand a much greater amount of processed data, requiring new structures to house them close to large urban centers”, comments the executive.

When commenting on the Beyond The Club, Rodrigo highlights the 27 thousand m² wave pool, considered the largest in the world, and which has 62 motors to generate a wave every four seconds. In addition to a Skate Park of 1,000 m² signed by Bob Burnquist, considered the most significant name in the history of skateboarding in Brazil and the biggest X Games medalist. “We apply technology and expertise from the same constructions that we carry out on the high seas and on the Brazilian coast for large companies that are a reference in the country’s economy. It will be a milestone for engineering in São Paulo and for the entire surrounding area”, declares Melo.

“Both the digital infrastructure works and the club, which is a transformation of the city, highlight the recovery of the infrastructure sector and the development of the economy”, he concludes.
