While many are desperate to find a revolutionary idea to get rich, some seem to have found the magic recipe. This is the case of the user Pauly0x on Twitter, who is probably among the top of those who reached the million in record time.

The million dollar tweet

The universe of cryptocurrencies is full of surprises and unexpected events, but Crypto influencer Pauly0x recently pushed the envelope by becoming a millionaire in a day with a simple tweet. What’s even more surprising is that no one really understands how we got here.

To do this, Pauly0x, who has over 1.2 million followers among his followers, ironically simply asked his followers to send him crypto for no consideration.

“Send ETH here: 0x8DFD4f307B6011D4CB21007FD5658f0686523938,” Pauly0x naively suggested on May 30.

Although Pauly0x never promised a reward or return on investment to those who sent him money, some of his followers obviously seemed to expect something in return.

And for good reason, seven minutes following the tweet was published, Pauly0x had already received $76.38 in Ethereum. The joke might have ended there and it would have already been very profitable… But following 24 hours and 1.6 million views, the user managed to harvest more than a hundred ETH worth a million dollars in cryptocurrenciesall without doing anything.

Surprised by the result, he reiterated his request, specifying explicitly on several occasions that no one would receive anything in return. He even went so far as to rename his address to “yougetnothing.eth”, which literally means “you will get nothing”.

Today, his crypto wallet balance now shows 671 ETH (regarding $1.2 million)an impressive sum that bears witness to the magic of influence and its mysteries…

In addition to ETH, Pauly0x also received millions of PEPE tokens worth a few tens of thousands of euros.

This social experiment conducted by Pauly0x highlights the irrationality of some members of the crypto community. Well aware of the situation, he tweeted in stride:

“I don’t know if you realize this, but the crypto industry is all a joke. Send me ETH, you won’t get anything back.”

An incomprehensible passion

The exact motivations of people sending crypto are difficult to pin down. Some certainly participated in the hope of receiving something in return, while others may have used the opportunity to empty their wallets with low balances.

Note, however, that Pauly0x is not the only one to receive such large sums in the crypto ecosystem. Although he is not in need, the creator of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, has already received substantial sums.

By 2021, the founders of the crypto Shib had sent half of all tokens to the founder of Ethereum. After having destroyed 90% of the parts by sending them to an address provided for this purpose, the young billionaire had donated 1.2 billion to an Indian foundation.

This tendency can also motivate usurpers to impersonate public figures for the sake of profit. In March 2021, an account pretended to be Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, and someone sent 5 Bitcoins, worth $243,000 at the time.
