TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – A company that considers itself to be the world’s fastest growing cryptocurrency platform has moved its North America headquarters from Miami to East Texas.
Crypto.combased in Singapore, is operating the new office inside Plaza Tower in downtown Tyler. According to their website, the company was founded in 2016 and serves more than 80 million customers.
“I just put my Texas license plate on the car,” said James Grabow, Crypto.com President of North America.
Grabow said when looking to relocate their Miami office, the company wanted a central location in the U.S., which made the Dallas area attractive.
“In our search around Dallas, we found Tyler,” Grabow said. “We came to visit and found Tyler to be an amazing city with a Class A office building (Plaza Tower) and a lot of young talent driven by UT Tyler.”
The political environment was also an important consideration to support the operation of business, Grabow said.
For now, the new Tyler office is home to Grabow and one other local employee. While much of the company’s workforce is remote, the new office can accommodate approximately 20 people and has room to grow beyond that. Additional job opportunities are expected in the near future, along with possible internship and mentorship opportunities for students.
“We will have people in here every day,” Grabow said. “Just not everybody every day.”
The company has made its presence known in recent years by partnering with the UFC, FIFA, and Formula One racing. They also having the naming rights to what was formerly known as the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
