Copenhagen – In the New Year’s address by Queen Margrethe II (83) from Denmark In 2024 it became clear that Crown Princess Mary (51)’s life would soon change significantly. The Danish regent surprisingly announced that she would abdicate the throne on January 14th and pass the crown on to her son Crown Prince Frederik (55). The next day, on January 1st, all eyes were on the always stylish princess at the traditional New Year’s reception at Amalienborg Palace. But her magnificent dress, as 24royal.de reports, was not new, quite the opposite.
Crown Princess Mary sticks to her favorite long-time favorite instead of opting for a new dress
In the burgundy red velvet dress from Birgit Hallstein Couture with a wide scoop neckline, long sleeves and a floor-length train, the princess looked as if she had long been queen. The robe may look familiar to some people, as Mary has worn the gala dress for the sixth time with small changes in a kind of New Year’s tradition.
