Crowds at the airport in Modlin. It’s better than before the pandemic

In the first month of the year, over 220,000 people used the services of the Warsaw/Modlin Airport. passengers and 1,471 air operations were served on it.

This means 100.2 percent. number of operations compared to January 2020 and 113 percent. compared to January 2022, while comparing in terms of the number of passengers the first month from previous years to this year’s January, we see, respectively, 100.9 percent. values ​​for 2020 and as much as 158.8 percent. for 2022.

Last month, airport passengers most often chose London, followed by Milan, Dublin, Rome, Vienna, Paris, Brussels, Stockholm, Barcelona and Oslo.

Two January days, Tuesday, January 17 and Wednesday, January 18, were marked by the landings of the men’s handball teams – the national teams of South Korea, Uruguay, Tunisia and Morocco. Coaches and a road from the Warsaw/Modlin Airport to Płock were waiting for the players. There, in the sports and entertainment hall, matches for the President’s Cup were played as part of the World Men’s Handball Championships held in Poland and Sweden.

– Recently, we have seen very lively activities of tenants and other entities involved in expanding the offer of our airport and confirming its attractiveness. This translates into the ever-growing interest in cooperation with us, not only in the field of air transport, but also in the services provided in our area or – says Tomasz Szymczak, acting President of the Management Board, Vice President for Sales and Marketing.

On the last Sunday of January, as in many previous years, a collection for the cans of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity was held at the Warsaw/Modlin Airport. This time, the airport area was made available to volunteers, young firefighters of the Volunteer Fire Brigade – Water Rescue from Modlin Fortress. They did a great job, and the donors, as always, showed great hearts and generosity.
