The Israeli army continued air strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and some buildings were hit and smoking. (Reuters)
The Israeli military issued a statement stating that in an air strike on the Lebanese capital Beirut the day before, Husseini, the head of Hezbollah’s logistics headquarters, was killed.
The Israeli army said that Husseini is a member of the Jihad Committee, Hezbollah’s highest military body. The Logistics Headquarters is responsible for overseeing the logistics and budget of Hezbollah’s forces, plays a key role in arms transfers between Iran and Hezbollah, and is responsible for Hezbollah’s Distribute advanced weapons among the troops, supervise weapons transportation, etc.
The Israeli army also announced that it would conduct limited, partial and targeted ground operations against Hezbollah in southwestern Lebanon starting yesterday.
