During the electoral campaign, every opportunity is a good one to argue, even if obvious exploitations, such as proverbial lies, have short legs. An exemplary case is that linked to the criticism of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni guilty of having paid homage to the army by reviewing the rows of soldiers standing on a military vehicle, next to the Minister of Defence. The images shot at the celebration of the 163rd anniversary of the establishment of the Army, at the military racecourse in Rome, sparked several out-of-place comments to which Guido Crosetto himself responded with a handful of eloquent photos.
“I have read absurd criticisms regarding the fact that the Prime Minister (not by choice but by practice) reviewed the Army contingent on board a military vehicle. I advise you to inform yourself before fomenting gratuitous hatred. There have been dozens of similar events”, writes the minister on Not only. Even the head of state, President Sergio Mattarella, reviewed the standing troops, with martial authority.

Fierce criticism of the images of the event arrived during the Friday 3 May episode of Propaganda Live, the program hosted by Diego Bianchi on La7. To which the journalist David Puente also responded, publishing similar photos which portray, among others, the president Giorgio Napolitano… In short, Meloni on the jeep? No democratic alarm but simple institutional practice. Once once more the anti-government propaganda fires blanks.
