CANCUN.- Two crocodile sightings surprised visitors of Cancun Quintana Roo since the reptiles were in a local restaurant and in the Hotel zone.
In the first incident a man was saved from being devoured by the huge crocodilewhile the second one did not go beyond a scare for the bathers.
Man saved from crocodile in Cancun
Early this Monday morning, at approximately 5:30 am, a man was stalked by a crocodile measuring more than two and a half meters in the lagoon of ‘Lorenzillos’ restaurant.
For reasons that are still unknown, the subject entered the restaurant’s dock, where the large reptile was located.
The screams of the twenty-something, which came from below the premises, alerted people nearby, so they called the emergency services.
On site, staff of Transit confirmed that a 25-year-old man was under the dock, regarding to fall into the water where the crocodile was.
With the authorization of the manager of ‘Lorenzillos’, the firefighters removed part of the wooden floor of the premises to rescue the man, who was exhausted and in imminent danger.
The young man was successfully rescued, but he did not explain why he was there, so the possibility that he entered the restaurant with the intention of stealing was not ruled out.
The Municipal police showed up at the business. However, no charges were filed once morest the man, who was released without being taken to a hospital because he had no injuries.
