The Director of Government of Querétaro, María Cristina Niño de Rivera, boasted in a story on her social networks that she “fled” from her office, which is why the state administration decided to dispense with her services as of this Friday.

Through a brief statement, the Querétaro government indicated that it was due to said video that the decision was made to terminate the employment relationship with the official.

“The Secretariat of Government of the Executive Branch of the State of Querétaro informs the public that, following the dissemination of material through social networks involving the Director of Government, María Cristina Niño de Rivera Burgueño, the decision has been made to terminate the employment relationship she had with this agency,” the statement said.

According to the document, this measure has been adopted in accordance with the values ​​and principles that govern the public administration of the State of Querétaro, which prioritize transparency, integrity and respect.

“The Ministry of Government reiterates its commitment to maintaining high ethical and professional standards at all levels of its structure, as established by the Decalogue that governs public officials of the current administration.”

According to the video, taken from her Stories, the now former official boasted of having “fled” her office, because citizens were looking for her to request an extension for the payment of her renewal.

It’s the last day to renew, so suddenly everyone says ‘it’s not that I forgot, it’s because of time and please, I promise’ and well no, the requirements are the requirements. But it makes me laugh a thousand times because there are a lot of people who don’t know that I am the Director of Government and well, they see me as small or I don’t know. The point is that they literally don’t know how many people passed by, I mean, like in front of me and they said to Lalis ‘it’s that I want an appointment with the teacher’ and I was right there next to me, but obviously they never imagine a young woman…” said the former head of the Querétaro Government Directorate in her Story.

María Cristina Niño de Rivera Burgueño assumed the position on January 24, which was the highest responsibility in her professional career to date.

A graduate of the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ) with a degree in Law and from ITAM, she has a master’s degree in public policy, and a couple of diplomas in electoral law, experiences and perspectives on the 2017-2018 electoral process and perspectives and challenges in Mexican labor law.

Niño de Rivera began her political career as an advisor in the Senate of the Republic, later she was legal coordinator in the Secretariat of Sustainable Development of Querétaro, director of Promotion of Social Development and the current director of Government of the state Secretariat. She has also been a professor of Economic History of Mexico and International Treaties, as well as business subjects, at the Autonomous University of Querétaro.

Following the decision taken by the Queretaro administration, Niño de Rivera apologized through a brief statement, where he indicated that he reaffirmed his commitment to the responsibilities of his position, but later closed his accounts on X and Instagram.
