Cristina Kirchner ordered the Senate block split to keep one more place in the Council of the Magistracy

In a move aimed at appointing one more representative to the Judicial Council and denying it to Together for Change, which claims it for Pro, Cristina Kirchner ordered today to split in two the block of the Front of All in the Senate. Thus, the vice president seeks to comply with the ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice and avoid legal complaints with which the opposition threatened if it was not put to law.

The move deserved the rejection of the opposition. “Shameful and fake division of the Frente de Todos bloc to try to steal a place in the Council of the Judiciary”, denounced Alfred Cornejo, head of the Together for Change interblock.

Now, according to the notes raised tonight to the presidency of the upper house, the ruling party will have two benches.

One, imade up of 21 senators, including José Mayans (Formosa)who until this partition presided over the Front of All, will be called the National and Popular Front bloc.

the other will be called Citizen Unit and will be made up of 14 senators, among which is Mendoza Fernandez Sagasti, vice-president of the now extinct block of the Front of All.

In the first cluster is Maria Pilatti deVergara (Chaco), current representative of the ruling party in the Council. In the second, there is the other Kirchnerist senator who is part of the organization, Mariano Recalde (Capital Federal).

With this ruse, Cristina Kirchner would be empowered to appoint one more Kirchnerist senator to the Council of the Judiciary, since the new blocks would become the first and third minority in the upper house.

Everything indicates that the appointed senator will come from the National and Popular Front bloc, which, being the first minority with 21 senators, will have the right to nominate two representatives in the body in charge of selecting and sanctioning lower court judges.

Although some versions indicate that the chosen one will be oscar parrilli (Neuquén), which is part of the Unidad Ciudadana bloc.
