Cristiano Ronaldo launches YouTube channel to “get closer” to his fans

Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo launched his new project on Wednesday, a YouTube channel called ‘UR Cristiano’ with which he aims to “get closer” to his fans and which has managed to attract millions of subscribers in just a few hours.

“I think (YouTube) is an ideal platform to be able to share a little of my life and my things,” said Cristiano in a presentation video in which he appeared alongside his partner, the Spanish Georgina Rodríguez.

“It’s a way to be closer to my fans, to my people,” added the Portuguese footballer, who currently plays for Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr.

Georgina, for her part, said that this is an initiative “with guaranteed success” due to Cristiano’s “dedication” and “magnetism” in attracting people.

He said that they will be able to show that they are “people of flesh and blood”, while the former Real Madrid player stressed that with the channel it will be seen that they have a “healthy relationship”.

‘UR Cristiano’ premiered on Wednesday and in just a few hours has surpassed one million subscribers.

His profile already features around twenty videos in which Cristiano praises some of his best goals, challenges his eldest son, Cristiano Junior, to take free kicks and talks about how he deals with pressure.
