Crisis in Ukraine: live malaise between Vladimir Putin and his intelligence chief in a sequence that has gone viral

the essential
The Russian president seems to have completely destabilized the head of Russian intelligence when asking him if he supported the decision to recognize the independence of the Ukrainian separatist regions.

The footage quickly went viral. As Russia decided on Monday February 21 to recognize the independence of the pro-Russian provinces of eastern Ukraine, a video showing President Vladimir Putin in official discussion with his intelligence chief caused a lot of reaction on social networks .

In these images, we see the Russian president asking the head of intelligence if he supported the federal decision – very significant in the conflict – to recognize the independence of the separatist regions. The latter, visibly very destabilized, begins by stammering, seeming to lose all his means in the face of the Head of State’s request.

He gives the impression of recovering following several reminders from Vladimir Putin, to finally declare that he indeed supports “the proposal on the accession of the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk within the Russian Federation”. Unease in the room, since it is not on the agenda, even if the international community rightly fears that this is the purpose of all this Russian operation in Ukraine.

Looking amused, Vladimir Putin, with a smile, cut it short: “Yes, but that’s not what we’re talking regarding”…
