NNA – Member of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Representative Dr. Bilal Al-Hushaimi, said that “the crises the educational sector in general and public schools in particular are going through, including strikes for more than three months and the repercussions of the economic crisis, have all led to moving towards the option of canceling the Brevet exams.”
Al-Hushaimi said in a statement: “Such a decision had to be taken so that exams would not destroy what remains of formal education, given the large difference in the educational level between private and public education due to the crisis and the failure to complete teaching the entire curriculum.”
He added, “There is a crisis resulting from the general situation and successive collapses. Can we bear the consequences of taking exams, the first of which is the intensity of students moving from public to private in the event that the official educational level deteriorates and students reap disastrous results?”
He continued: “Therefore, it was necessary to preserve the educational entity and public schools that provide education for students with limited income by canceling the Brevet certificate exams, and focusing on preserving the completion of the baccalaureate exams in all its branches without any deficiency in the methodology, as it is unreasonable to reduce and cut the curriculum As happened last year, and it is not logical for a large number of students to obtain a very good grade, otherwise the certificate and its results will be challenged.”
He called for the need to “give the educational sector, especially formal education in schools, vocational schools and universities, the necessary attention and support, and to ensure a decent living for teachers who do their best to fulfill their mission to the fullest.”
