A criminology graduate student has been charged with murder following four students were found dead in the US state of Idaho in November. A so-called grand jury in the state of Idaho considered the evidence in the case sufficient for a trial on Wednesday, as the TV stations CNN and NBC reported unanimously on Wednesday. The 28-year-old was also charged with burglary.
The man is suspected of stabbing four University of Idaho students in an apartment in November last year. The college is located in the US Northwest, near the border of the states of Washington and Idaho.
The suspect, who was pursuing a doctorate in criminal law and criminology from nearby Washington State University, was finally arrested late last year at his childhood home in the northeastern US state of Pennsylvania. DNA technology helped track down the suspect, investigators said at the time.
By searching for his car, the police then located the suspect thousands of kilometers from the crime scene. The motive for the killings is still unclear.
