The Mixco Prosecutor’s Office reported progress in the investigation into a criminal structure of pirate taxi drivers called “Sción”, involved in kidnappings and murders in that municipality, according to authorities.
The case that drives the investigation is the kidnapping of Henry Roderick Juarez Lopezwhich occurred on July 6, 2024 in the colony Bran, Zone 6 of Mixco. This fact It was captured by security cameras in the areaand to this day, Juárez López’s whereabouts remain unknown.
After obtaining the recordings, prosecutors were able to identify the first signs of the kidnapping, such as the vehicle in which the victim was abducted.
Since the start of the investigation, the prosecution has been able to track down the first suspects linked to the criminal structure.
The first suspect was arrested in the colony The Miracle, Mixco zone 6. The investigators also proceeded to seize the first vehicle, a pickup truck from the brand “Scion”involved in the kidnapping.
The detainee, Cesar “N”, 38 years oldwas linked to the case for being the driver of the pirate taxi, which, according to the prosecution, was involved in the kidnapping of Juárez López, as shown in the recording that is considered the main evidence.
Subsequently, a second arrest of another alleged member of the structure took place, identified as Kevin “N”, 26 years old, also a clandestine pirate taxi driver, according to the authorities’ investigations.
According to the Mixco Prosecutor’s Office, this person is also believed to be involved in the structure and the criminal act.
After 48 days, the Mixco Municipal Prosecutor’s Office coordinated a search day on August 16, 2024 under the guidance of investigators who received information about the possible location of the body of Juárez López, who He was reportedly thrown from a bridge in the Lo de Bran neighborhood.

For the proceedings, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that the Specialized Division in Criminal Investigation (Deic) and the rescue unit of the Volunteer Firefighters, who also used a drone to carry out an exhaustive search.
However, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that the results of the search were negative.
One of the lines of investigation details that the crimes are related to a territorial dispute between members of the cliques “Little Psycho Criminal” y “Only for Crazy People” from Barrio 18, who would control the taxi routes in the municipality.
Video of the kidnapping
The kidnapping of Juárez López was recorded by surveillance cameras Located in the colony Bran’s, zone 6 of Mixco.
The video, which has become the main evidence in the case, shows how a group of men intercept the taxi driven by the victim.
As the vehicles move in both directions, a car crosses the road, forcing the driver of the shared taxi to stop.
From behind, a second vehicle, where accomplices are mobilized, advances until it is positioned next to the victim. At that moment, Armed men descend and forcibly take Juárez López, who tried to resist the kidnapping.
The passengers on board the vehicle flee as best they can, while watching in disbelief what is happening.
The passenger who was travelling as co-pilot is presumed to have been an accomplice to the kidnapping, as he allegedly used a weapon to intimidate the victim, thus facilitating the crime.
That was the last time Henry Juárez was seen, on July 6, 2024.
Henry’s family continues the search, as he leaves behind an orphaned child who asks every day what time his father will arrive.
