A Ghanaian living in Grammont is currently summoned to appear before the criminal court for having sent his double to pass his license in his place, reports La Derniere Heure.
Serge has the license in his native country, but it is not valid in Belgium. Although he needed a European driving license to work, the Ghanaian living in Grammont failed twelve times in Flanders. He therefore sent his double, Julien, a Congolese, to try his luck in his place in Mons, where the examiners are known to be less strict. Unfortunately for both men, an employee noticed the deception.
A complaint was filed with the police for forgery, use of forgery and attempted fraud. “Without the vigilance of this person, he would have received his license, even though he is not capable of driving on our roads,” asserts the deputy of the king’s prosecutor. Serge risks a one-year sentence, with a suspended probationary period. Julien might serve two hundred hours of work. Judgment is expected in a month.
