A criminal case for insulting the feelings of believers was initiated following the burning of the holy book of Muslims at the Cathedral Mosque in Volgograd. The suspect admitted that this is not the first time he takes orders from the Security Service of Ukraine.
As reported by the Investigative Committee of Russia on May 20, the hero of the video that was spread on social networks was identified and detained together with the police and employees of the regional FSB. It turned out to be a local resident Nikita Zhuravel.
V1.RU citing a source in emergency services, he clarifies that this is a 19-year-old native of Ukraine, who, according to preliminary data, studies at a local pedagogical university, works as a courier and grabs any income. So, he allegedly found another vacancy through telegrams – 10 thousand rubles were offered for burning the Koran.
The Investigative Committee says that the defendant confessed: he filmed at the direction of the special services of Ukraine, handed over the recording to the SBU. Later, the video appeared on the Internet portal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces controlled by the CISO.
“He also announced his involvement in other collaborative assistance – video filming of military facilities,” the department added.
So far, the young man is charged with only the second part of Article 148 of the Criminal Code, which provides for up to three years in prison.
