MOSCOW (Archyde.com) – The Crimean port city of Sevanborg was attacked by drones earlier in the day, with Russian air defenses and the Black Sea Fleet intercepting eight Ukrainian drones, the Russian-backed chief executive said on Monday.
“There was no damage either in the city or in the sea,” Mikhail Razvozhayev, chief executive of the Russian-backed Sevastopol, said on Telegram.
One of the drones was shot down at sea, five were intercepted by Russian electronic warfare forces and two unmanned seaplanes were destroyed off the coast, he added.
Razvozaev said earlier that the attacks took place at the port of Sevanberg, as well as in the city’s Balaklava and Khersones districts.
Ukraine had no immediate comment on the attack in Crimea. Crimea was annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014.
Ukraine has almost never publicly taken responsibility for attacks in Russia or on Russian-controlled territory in Ukraine, but it has repeatedly said in recent months that destroying Russian military infrastructure would help Ukrainian counteroffensives. Central News Agency (Translation)
