Cricket World Cup 2023: Predictions, Analysis, and Favorites India, England, Australia, and New Zealand

The ODI Cricket World Cup is coming back to India following a gap of 12 years. The seven-week tournament will be an exhilarating journey of great highs and painful lows.

All ten teams play each other once. Therefore, the possibility of unexpected events is very high. But I firmly believe that India, England, Australia and New Zealand will reach the knockout stage. In my opinion, India and England are the best teams in the World Cup. All of India’s batsmen are in top form and the pacers led by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj are in top form. In place of injured Axar Patel, R. Giving Ashwin a chance might be a boon. I feel sad when I remember Aksar. Ashwin is an incredibly talented bowler who, like the king of kings, Virat Kohli, has been part of a World Cup-winning team before. England’s style of cricket is intimidating to most opponents. They have depth and incredible power in the batting, and bringing Ben Stokes down into the batting is a smart move. The fact that there are so many good bowlers can sometimes confuse Jos Buttler. England are a championship winning team and I am sure they have the potential to retain the title. Australia knows what it takes to win big matches. That is why they became champions five times. Many of their players are familiar with Indian conditions as they have played several seasons in the IPL. I believe Glenn Maxwell will be crucial to their fortunes.

Ashton Agar’s injury will be a setback. A good left arm spinner is an asset in 50 over cricket. New Zealand have proved to be one of the most consistent teams. Apart from Kane Williamson, they have no other superstars. This is big news for them who lost the title in the last world cup final without losing. It would have been better if Michael Bracewell was in the team. New Zealand seem to have what it takes to overcome his absence.
