(Archyde.com) – Credit Suisse chief executive Ulrich Körner said in a memo to bank employees that the UBS takeover will be finalized on Monday, the Bloomberg news agency reported on Saturday.
“While Monday marks the end of this chapter in our history, it is also the beginning of a new and exciting future,” Ulrich Körner wrote in the memo, quoted by Bloomberg. “Monday’s legal close is the next important step as we work to get you the answers you need as quickly as possible.”
Neither Credit Suisse nor UBS immediately responded to a request for comment.
UBS and the Swiss government signed an agreement on Friday to cover up to nine billion Swiss francs (9.28 billion euros) in losses related to its emergency takeover by its Swiss competitor.
