Teacher-researchers in nursing sciences from French universities have decided to come together within a national college, the aim of which is strategic reflection on nursing care, teaching and research in nursing sciences, in the all fields and sectors of practice, including specialized and advanced practice.
Since October 31, 2019, the nursing university sector has been implemented following the creation of section 92 – Nursing sciences within the National Council of Universities of Health Disciplines. Today, 12 French universities have enabled the creation of tenured University Professor and Lecturer positions in nursing sciences and/or contractual teacher-researcher positions in nursing sciences.
In the context of the universalization of training in nursing sciences and the overhaul of the nursing profession, the French College of University Teachers-Researchers in Nursing Sciences (CoFECSI), created on September 7, 2023, makes it possible to bring together all teacher-researchers in nursing sciences and has the particular mission of ensuring their representation in competent bodies, professional organizations and upon request.
The members of the CoFECSI office for this first term are as follows:

– Secretary: Elise VEROT, Lecturer (Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne University)

The college’s first actions will be to contribute to work on the overhaul of the nursing profession and training, with a view to creating a coherent and relevant Bachelor-Master-Doctorate in Nursing program in the French university landscape. The college will seek membership in national professional nursing councils.
