All professionals have agreed on the need to create flexible and dynamic work environments that combine technology, space design and additional services, in order to promote engagement among collaborators and increase team satisfaction. This was expressed by the breakfast moderator, Rita Gasalla, who highlighted the need to “approach work spaces from the point of view of healthy architecture and neuroarchitecture so that in addition to being aesthetically pleasing, they have a positive impact on the mental health and performance of employees.”

For this impact to be real and palpable, Jorge Ybáñez, from Sodexo, has stressed the need for there to be a clear commitment from the organization’s management since, without it, “any transformation initiative towards a healthy workplace loses strength.” In his own words, “healthy spaces are the result of continuous change, of giving in and adapting to achieve the desired objectives, since the transformation not only implies physical movement, but also involves a strategy to revive the spirit of the company and generate a more dynamic and connected work environment”.

Something that Inés Perea has confirmed that, with a pioneering approach in the creation of offices that promote a positive work environment has demonstrated how “architectural design can enhance collaboration and employee preference for being in the workplace.” Perea has insisted that “offices must offer more than a simple workspace,” and has stressed that “Healthy architecture is essential for the office to become a place where employees feel comfortable both emotionally and physically.”

Sofía Herreros has also emphasized the responsibility of companies to provide “dynamic, flexible and sustainable” work environments that promote a healthier life for employees, “thus achieving greater productivity and retention.” In this sense, he has highlighted the importance of “actively involving teams in understanding corporate values and promoting healthy ideals.” To do this, he recalled, “it is necessary to adapt to the changing priorities and needs of people, demonstrating that a strategy focused on active participation and deep understanding is key to business success.”

The importance of communication in the transformation process

This transformation of work spaces towards healthy and sustainable environments implies, therefore, a profound change in the mentality of the company and its collaboratorsTherefore, during this process the communication plays a fundamental role. This has been recognized by Gasalla, who has assured that “communication and transparency are fundamental in the process of change towards healthy workplaces. Surprising collaborators with initiatives that improve their work environment contributes significantly to commitment and productivity.”

For this to be possible and healthy workplaces to be a success, Perea has also maintained that it is necessary a change in organizational culture and leadership models. As he has highlighted, “it is essential to listen to people and transform their requests into effective solutions to avoid discrepancies between what is wanted and what is really needed.”

Herreros has spoken along the same lines, adding that the Flexibility in communication and willingness to evolve are key. “Every company is unique, and needs change over time. Healthy workspaces must constantly adapt to new demands, and agile and flexible communication is essential to ensure effective transformation.”

Vital Spaces: a value proposition with people at the center

The participants have delved into the value proposition of “Vital Spaces” which, in addition to contributing to the physical transformation of the offices, acts on the experience the employee has in the workplace. In this sense, Ybañez has emphasized that Vital Spaces “stands as a daily commitment to offer collaborators not only an attractive space, but a constantly changing experience, where something new happens every day.”

Through this philosophy, the organization is committed to placing the employee at the center, which implies a transition towards a more horizontal spacewhere the changes go beyond the physical infrastructure of the elimination of offices o to adoption of flexible positionswhich translates into a reeducation in collaborative dynamics, thus creating an environment where collaboration flows naturally and increases customer satisfaction.
