There are many ways to create and scan QR codes. We have already presented the command line tool You knowwhich offers a variety of options for generating barcodes of all kinds.
The Decoder application, on the other hand, takes a simpler and more graphical approach. This can be installed, for example, in Flatpak Format from the Flathub repository.
Once started, Decoder opens a view to create a QR code. All you have to do is enter the value to be generated in the text field. In many cases, this is a url.
Alternatively, codes for WLAN connection data can be generated, which, with the appropriate software, can make it easier to set up a network connection, for example on a mobile phone.
About the button Export the created QR code can be saved in PNG format. the button To back up only serves to save the information in the program-internal process.
With the help of Scanfunction, QR codes can be read and interpreted.
