During a general meeting held in Libreville, the residents of Canton Nye, Woleu Department in Oyem, Woleu-Ntem province (north), expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the action plan carried out by the board of directors of the Collective of Residents of Canton Nye (CRCN), since the creation of the association in 2021. They took the opportunity to give their approval for the choice and appointment of the wise Joseph Serge Mezui Obiang as Patron of the Association.
Among the activities included in the 2023-2024 action plan and carried out, the Secretary General of the CRCN, Stelly Giscard Okome, notably reported on the information, explanation and membership campaign for the Association carried out concurrently in Libreville and Oyem, from October 2015 to December 2021; as well as the celebration of the 2022 edition of the Mother’s Day for mothers from the Canton, living or passing through Libreville.
The Secretary General also mentioned in this report, the donation of 2 desktop computers and a brush cutter made to the Oyem Gendarmerie Brigade; food kits given to the populations of the Canton at Christmas 2021; the organization of a free medical day in the village of Adzad-Endeng in collaboration with the Gabonese Samu social, in October 2023; the participation of the Association in the Independence Day on August 17, 2022 and the organization of a fraternal meal for the daughters and sons of the Canton in Libreville.
The president of the CRCN, Gerys Mba Métogo, hopes for his part, to be able to count for the months and years to come with the expected results of the pleas made to the highest authorities of the transition, in particular to the attention of the Minister of Public Works and the president of the transition, concerning the implementation of socio-collective infrastructure projects for the development of Canton Nye.
After this glowing assessment in all respects, the president of the CRCN, Gerys Mba Ndong Métogo, introduced to the audience the Godfather of the Association, the wise Joseph Serge Mezui Obiang, whose experience and wise advice should help achieve the objectives of the Association, for the benefit of the development of Canton Nye.

Created in 2020, the Collective of Residents of Canton Nye has set itself the following missions: to strengthen ties between the people of Nye in order to bring them together around a common ideal, based on the influence of the Akam Essatouk district, without any distinction; to raise awareness among populations on the importance of unity, peace, tolerance and commitment; to promote and encourage self-employment and entrepreneurship among young people.
