Crash splits car in two, kills three

Saturday evening, around 9:15 p.m., a driver lost control of his car, a Maserati, in Lichtervelde. This led the motorist to hit a central bollard and then crash into a tree nearly 200m further, as reported by Le Soir.

The driver, who was heading towards Kortemark, was accompanied by two brothers, aged 28 and 22. The motorist was probably a co-worker in the construction industry.

The impact was so violent that it split the car in two and ejected the three occupants of the car. Unfortunately, they did not survive the accident.
