Craftsman service: quickly solve customer problems online with “Blankmile”.

They graduated from the HTL Braunau and the FH Hagenberg, now Martin Schneglberger, Andreas Holzapfel and Dominik Reichinger are working hard with their start-up company MAD Tech. From the company headquarters on Hoher Markt in Ried, the three young entrepreneurs offer other companies a new opportunity for digitization with www.blankmile.com: Customer requests can be processed remotely via video call with as little effort as possible.

In this way, time and costs can be saved compared to a journey, especially when preparing offers, complaints and error diagnostics. The special thing regarding it: Neither customers nor companies have to install software or buy additional hardware. The connection is established with one click.

“A simple, inexpensive and sustainable solution for many companies,” say the technicians, who have already received an Edison Prize in 2021. “In times of a shortage of skilled workers, climate change and rising energy and mobility costs, it doesn’t make sense to travel all the way just to get an idea or to solve a small problem. In addition, quality requirements are increasing, customers don’t want to wait days for someone to come by and helps,” says Martin Schneglberger. Employees can view the problem together with those affected in the video call. Blankmile enables companies to assess the customer’s situation stress-free from the office and to plan repair trips, if these are subsequently necessary, much better. Via video call, required photos can be taken, notes can be made or instructions can be drawn into the video so that customers can fix minor problems themselves with guidance.

“The idea for the software came regarding during Martin’s master’s thesis at the FH Hagenberg. We continued this together following our studies and won the prize in the Edison ideas competition in 2021 in the innovation category,” says Andreas Holzapfel, who has known his two company partners for ten years and gained excellent software knowledge with them both in Braunau and in Hagenberg.

Blankmile is already being used successfully by the first partner companies, and the application is being very well received, according to the MAD-Tech engineers. Incidentally, MAD is the abbreviation of Martin, Andreas and Dominik – under the motto “Crazy technology instead of technology that drives you crazy”, in addition to “Blankmile” professional app and web development is also offered.
