This camp is held mostly outdoors under shade, allowing children to experience creative exploration in a natural setting. We recommend the following for a comfortable experience:
• Dressing your child in layers for variable weather conditions.
• Bringing a refillable water bottle to keep hydrated and a healthy snack, steering clear of sugar and peanut products for safety.
• Ensuring they wear closed-toe shoes to prevent injury from tools. Flip-flops are not acceptable for this camp.
• Long hair should be tied back for safety.
• Please apply sunscreen before camp and consider sending your child with a sun hat to protect from sun exposure.
OPTIONAL | For families desiring convenience, we offer Lunch Hour Supervision. For a $15 fee for the week, campers can stay during lunchtime. They may bring a packed lunch and engage in a fun crafting activity post-lunch. Click here to learn more and add the lunch break option.
BEHAVIOR POLICY: We maintain a respectful and engaging environment; thus, disruptive behavior will necessitate a parent-teacher conference. Continued issues may result in dismissal from our program. We expect children to listen attentively to our staff and teachers, use appropriate language, and handle tools responsibly after proper instruction. Children must also practice safety and care for each other and the environment.
DIRECTIONS: Our studio, conveniently located within Liberty Station’s Arts District, can be found at the end of the hallway on the first floor of the Dorothea Laub Music & Arts Center (Building 176). We are situated at the intersection of Roosevelt & Truxtun, adjacent to The Lot movie theater. Ample free parking is available; utilize Parking Lot Q located behind our studio with access via the Dewey driveway, or opt for free parking in the Vons lot across the street. If locating us proves difficult, please call or text 619.273.3235 for assistance.
CLASS SIZE: Our camp requires a minimum of 4 participants. Should we not meet the minimum, you’ll receive a full refund or a credit towards another class, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to join.
REFUNDS: Please note that we do not offer refunds for tardiness or no-shows. If you need a refund (minus a 5% processing fee), you must do so at least 7 days prior to the start of the camp. After this period, refunds cannot be issued as materials and supplies are finalized.
TRANSFERS: If your plans change, you may transfer your enrollment to someone else, provided this occurs before the camp begins. Please notify us by email to inform us about the transfer.
LATE REGISTRATION: For those who wish to join once the camp has started, we allow add-ins on a space-permitting basis as long as the instructor agrees and supplies last. Typically, we prepare a few extra materials! To inquire or make arrangements, contact our office at 619.273.3235 or via email.
INTEREST LIST: Should a class reach full capacity, or if you seek updates on future offerings, we encourage you to join our Interest List to receive notifications when new dates or openings are available.
**Interview with Jessica, Camp Coordinator at San Diego Craft Collective**
**Interviewer:** Hi Jessica! Thank you for joining us today. Can you tell us a bit about the Winter Holiday Kids Camp at the San Diego Craft Collective?
**Jessica:** Absolutely! We’re really excited to offer the Winter Holiday Kids Camp this December for children ages 6-12. It runs from December 23 and then on the 26th and 27th, every day from 1 to 5 PM. It’s a fantastic opportunity for kids to explore their creativity in a fun and engaging outdoor environment!
**Interviewer:** That sounds wonderful! What can parents expect in terms of activities during the camp?
**Jessica:** We have a variety of arts and crafts planned, allowing the kids to explore different mediums and techniques. The camp encourages creative exploration while also fostering teamwork and communication among peers. Plus, they’ll get to enjoy crafting in a natural setting, which adds to the overall experience!
**Interviewer:** I noticed that you recommend certain items for the kids to bring. Could you elaborate on that?
**Jessica:** Sure! Since we’re mostly outdoors, we suggest parents dress their children in layers due to possible temperature changes. A refillable water bottle and a healthy snack are essential. We also ask that children wear closed-toe shoes for safety reasons, and if they have long hair, it should be tied back. Sunscreen and a sun hat are great ideas to protect against UV exposure.
**Interviewer:** Great advice! For parents who may need extra convenience during lunchtime, what options do you offer?
**Jessica:** We understand that some families might want their kids to stay during lunch, so we offer Lunch Hour Supervision for a small fee of $15 for the week. This allows campers to enjoy a packed lunch and participate in a crafting activity afterwards, all while being supervised by our staff.
**Interviewer:** That’s a fantastic option for busy families! Now, how does the camp handle behavior management?
**Jessica:** We have a clear behavior policy to ensure a respectful and engaging environment for everyone. We expect children to listen to staff, use appropriate language, and handle tools responsibly after proper instruction. If there are any disruptive behaviors, we will hold a parent-teacher conference. Our ultimate goal is to create a safe and enjoyable experience for all campers.
**Interviewer:** Perfect! Lastly, could you share how parents can get to the San Diego Craft Collective and any important details for visiting?
**Jessica:** Absolutely! We’re located within Liberty Station’s Arts District at 2590 Truxtun Rd., Studio 106. Parking is convenient, with ample free spots available in Parking Lot Q. Families can easily access us via the Dewey driveway. We’re also right by the intersection of Roosevelt and Truxtun, adjacent to The Lot movie theater.
**Interviewer:** Thank you so much for the insights, Jessica! It sounds like a fantastic program for kids this winter.
**Jessica:** Thank you for having me! We can’t wait to see the kids get creative with us at camp!
