The production of the iPhone 14 has barely started and already some hitches are to be deplored. The first iPhone 14 would have small cracks on the photo lenses.
The announcement of the iPhone 14 will take place in September 2022. A keynote first date is also advanced, namely September 13, 2022. To meet demand, Apple has decided to start production of these new smartphones, but not everything is going as planned.
Indeed, the first iPhones out of the factory are not to the taste of Cupertino. Unfortunately, several smartphones have cracks on the camera. It is the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who relays this information concerning the quality problems.
These cracks on the camera are of unknown origin, but some components are pointed out. Apple decided to react urgently to this quality problem by changing provider. It is the company Largan Precision which will take care of producing more than 10 million units of lenses.
Also according to the analyst, the Genius supplier should be able to resolve its quality problems within a maximum of 2 to 3 months. Otherwise, Apple might definitely call on Largan to fill the photo lens supply gap.
The good news is that this quality issue was caught early on. This would allow Apple to still meet its deadlines for the sale of the new model. Apple also reportedly anticipated the iPhone 14 volume hit by increasing inventory compared to the iPhone 13.
