Riyadh: In Saudi Arabia, public prosecution has been tightened once morest those who falsify official government documents. The Public Prosecution has warned that those involved in such crimes will be punished with imprisonment of up to five years and a fine of up to five lakh Riyals.

The Public Prosecution issued a stern warning once morest those who falsify or fabricate official documents issued by the government.

The Public Prosecution stated that if it is found that the public authorities and their employees have forged documents, they will be imprisoned for up to five years and fined up to five lakh Riyals.

The scope of the law will include preparing documents in a way that insults and offends Saudi public authorities and their officials, international public authorities and their officials.

The Public Prosecution stated that the manufacture, circulation and use of letterhead, seal and stamp official seals would fall within the ambit of the offence.
