ABU DHABI – The Ministry of Human Resources and Indigenization has announced that it has recovered 23.2 crore dirhams from expatriates who received financial assistance from Nafis through fake repatriation jobs in the private sector. The investigation revealed that private companies are making fake appointments to achieve the goal of indigenization and getting financial assistance from the company for such appointments.
The ministry said that water will not be allowed to be added to the scheme implemented to ensure the employment representation of natives in the private sector.
There is also a warning that if the indigenization programs implemented to increase the employability of natives and create valuable Emirati employees in the labor market are not taken seriously, the action will be toughened.
The ministry is monitoring companies that implement indigenization and transfer salaries through the Wage Protection System (WPS).
This will help identify those who are cooperating with the project and those who are not. Apart from this, the ministry also has a team for direct inspection of the companies. Officials said that they will visit the institutions and check that the natives are working.
Legal action will be taken if false naturalization is implemented. Financial assistance is provided to natives working in the private sector and private companies that employ them through NAFIS under the Ministry.
Moreover, the companies that are properly indigenized will be included in the ministry’s priority list. Apart from these benefits, they will also get concessions in government services.
Some categorize benefits to encourage indigenization as bogus deals. During the last day’s inspection, the amount was recovered from those who received such assistance illegally.
