“Since before entering Colombian territory, migrants were contacted via instant messaging applications for smartphones by members of a criminal organization that, from Colombia, promised to facilitate, collaborate and allow irregular entry into Colombian territory and also boasted of transporting them. , house them, feed them and process their irregular passage to Panama”the police specified.

According to the Police, the criminal organization, whose presumed leader was Ermilo Vargas Mosqueraknown as ‘Camilo’, it had the capacity to mobilize migrants in private vehicles through applications for interurban and interdepartmental passenger transport services that operate through the Internet, to facilitate irregular transit in Colombian territory from Ipiales and Pasto to Medellín or Necoclí.
