It was a man named Jeremy Wagner who took this disturbing video of the malfunctioning carousel at Carowinds.

As riders approach one of the ride’s curves, the crack appears to expand and contract.

Wagner told CNN in an interview that he reported the crack to customer services at the amusement park before leaving the park. The man claims to have also contacted the Charlotte fire department.

10 minutes later, the firefighters called him back to tell him that the ride had been closed.

In an email to CNN, Carowinds said all rides are inspected daily and this one will remain closed until repairs are complete.

“The Fury” is North America’s longest steel roller coaster reaching speeds of 95 miles per hour, according to the Carowinds website.
