Punalur ∙ CPM Chemmantur local committee office, which was functioning in the commercial complex at Chemmantur private bus stand of the municipality, was closed by the revenue department of the municipal corporation following strong protests by the UDF councilors on the basis of rent arrears of over four lakhs.
The UDF councilors blocked the officials’ move to close other debt rooms that had been in arrears for several months without taking action despite years of arrears.
