Very open regarding their process, the desert team said on Twitter that head coach André Tourigny had left the 24-year-old full-back out for “trade-related reasons”. The Coyotes faced the St. Louis Blues in the evening.

Chychrun asked to be traded to a more competitive team several months ago, but Arizona had yet to find a dance partner. Injuries suffered by the player and the greediness of the staff, which would require at least two first-round picks, weighed in the balance.

Having played a first game this season on November 21, the Floridian is heading for a career high with 28 points in 36 games. The attacking fullback also has a +8 differential.

Having been selected at the 16e echelon of the 2016 draft, Chychrun spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Coyotes. He amassed 170 points in 373 games.

He commands an average annual salary of $4.6 million until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
