Thiruvananthapuram: Kovid-19 has been confirmed for 45,136 persons in Kerala. Outbreaks were reported in Ernakulam 8143, Thiruvananthapuram 7430, Thrissur 5120, Kozhikode 4385, Kottayam 3053, Kollam 2882, Palakkad 2607, Malappuram 2431, Alappuzha 2168, Pathanamthitta 2012, Kannur 1673, Idukki 1637, Wayanad 972 and Kasaragod 623.
1,00,735 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
The death toll in the state has risen to 70 and the record test positive rate is still a concern. Today the test positivity rate is 44.8%.
There are currently 3,85,516 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 3,77,086 are under home / institutional quarantine and 8,430 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 1124 people were newly admitted to the hospital.
Currently, out of 2,47,227 Kovid cases, only 3% of individuals are admitted to hospitals / field hospitals.
Today, it has been confirmed that Kovid-19 is responsible for 70 deaths in the last few days. In addition, 62 deaths have been reported which have been appealed by the Central Government under the new guidelines of the Supreme Court. This brings the total death toll in the state to 51,739.
Today, 128 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 42,340 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 2225 is not clear. 443 health workers were affected by the disease.
A total of 21,324 people were diagnosed and treated and recovered. Thiruvananthapuram 4163, Kollam 3080, Pathanamthitta 709, Alappuzha 567, Kottayam 1021, Idukki 465, Ernakulam 3324, Thrissur 3041, Palakkad 687, Malappuram 720, Kozhikode 1567, Wayanad 824, Kannur 1003 and Kasaragod 153 were cured. With this, 2,47,227 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 52,97,971 have so far been freed from Kovid.

100 per cent of the vaccinated population was given one dose of vaccine (2,67,35,795) and 83 per cent were given two dose of vaccine (2,22,28,824).
A total of 66% (10,01,169) of children aged 15 to 17 years were vaccinated.

As per today’s report, 39,523 out of 45,136 new patients were eligible for vaccination. Of these, 2239 received one dose of vaccine and 27,499 received two doses of vaccine. However, 9785 people were not reported to have received the vaccine. Kovid vaccines protect people from infection and serious illness and significantly reduce the risk of hospitalization and death.
Between January 15 and 21, an average of 1,49,922 cases were treated, with only 0.7 percent requiring oxygen beds and only 0.5 percent requiring an ICU. During this period, there was an increase of approximately 1,39,966 new cases reported compared to the previous week. The growth rate of new cases has increased by 201 per cent compared to the previous week. The number of patients currently being diagnosed and treated in hospitals, field hospitals, ICUs, ventilators and oxygen beds has increased by 201%, 87%, 126%, 57% and 23% 91% respectively this week compared to the previous week.
