Covid: faced with the decline, Attal evokes “adaptations”, what could these new measures be?

The decline of the Covid epidemic is confirmed in France. The number of new cases has now fallen below 50,000. In this context, government spokesman Gabriel Attal raised the possibility of adjustments in the coming weeks. We take stock.

A first since December. The number of Covid-19 cases has fallen below the 50,000 case per day mark on average, after a peak reached at the beginning of April around 140,000. An unprecedented situation since the Omicron variant is the majority in France. This improvement in the health situation is also confirmed in the hospital, as stated Public Health France.

67,017 positive cases were identified in 24 hours, compared to 97,498 last Tuesday, a decrease of 31.3%. ud83dudcc9

This trend was also confirmed in the Council of Ministers, this Wednesday, May 4 and suggests some changes…

Towards new reductions?

The government spokesman, Gabriel Attal, explained that the health situation, in “very marked improvement, will give rise to adjustments in the coming weeks“. However, since mid-March, there are few control measures left, the vaccination pass having been suspended in most public places and the wearing of a mask is no longer compulsory in public places and outdoors ( except exceptions) But some remain and could well be removed, given the favorable evolution of the health context.

  1. First, the masque remains mandatory in transport. It is therefore possible that this obligation no longer exists.
  2. Let’s not forget either that the pass vaccinal, although it has been suspended in most public places, remains required in healthcare facilities. In this context, thousands of caregivers were suspended for refusing to be vaccinated. President Emmanuel Macron announced on Friday April 29, during a trip to the Hautes-Pyrénées broadcast on BFM TV, that they could reinstate them if the Covid-19 epidemic “continues to decline in the coming weeks”. This presupposes the imminent cessation of the vaccine pass in hospitals.

In Occitania, the Covid indicators are also down. As at the national level, Covid-related hospitalizations are decreasing (101 fewer in the last three days in the region), as are critical care admissions.
